Edith Minturn "Edie" Sedgwick (April 20, 1943 – November 16, 1971)
For those of you not familiar with Edie Sedgwick, she was best known for her role as Andy Warhol's Muse. She was an IT girl of the sixties, known for her sweet nature, giant earrings and black tights. I first learned of her when a film called Factory Girl came out featuring Sienna Miller (one of my favorite fashionistas) as the lovely Edie. To reflect upon the fact that she was an actress, socialite and model, she was also a deeply troubled and insecure individual who was taken advantage of. I am not quite sure why this subject makes so much sense right now to talk about? I do remember never being much of a fan of Andy Warhol and once I saw the film about Edie's life with Andy, I did a little more research that helped solidify my disgust toward this artist. Edie was bright and vivacious with killer style and beyond everything she was gorgeous! You ever think that one thing that makes a human being attractive is one their looks but two, their personality, and that is exactly what Edie had.

She was featured only once in Vogue as her career took a turn toward the more destructive side. I do however love the fact that she created her own style for the short period of time she was an IT girl. She wore giant fur coats, short dresses, black tights or leotards (she was a dancer), along with some leather knee length boots and giant earrings! Huge fashion to go with a huge personality. Who better to play this girl than Sienna Miller? Please check her out. She lived a short life, but had a huge impact on the world of fashion. And she was blond ;)
