Thinking back to the ever-inspiring fashionista for the majority of the fashion world, Kate Moss has been the catalyst for countless trends. My Fashion Binder (a collection of cutouts and notes on fashion that I have kept since 10th grade) contains many pictures of Moss wearing trends I would someday hope to wear. You have to give the girl credit; she came into the modeling business as one of the shortest to strut down the runway (5 feet 8 inches) and is now ranked as one of the highest paid models. Nevertheless, as my sister remembers, she pioneered the au naturale look. She could appear outside in something she just threw on with little to no make-up and look effortlessly chic! Something the English are known for because of Kate Moss.....think Sienna Miller, Jude Law and Alexa Chung (shockingly 3 fashionistas I have previously written about).I thought long and hard, about those trends I have copied from Kate Moss. Here are some of my favorites…...
Leopard Print Flats

I had a pair for the longest time (Dearly Departed c. 2005-2010) and recently got a new pair for Christmas. And I loved wearing them particularly with black as you see Moss wearing it.
Suit Vests
Yes, I adopted them on account of this outfit alone, even though Moss wore them all the time. Plus I was, and still am, into Menswear. The vests I purchased at the Thrift Store, in the Men's Section, were altered for a more feminine look, which I wore over tank tops, puffed cleaved shirts and my favorite men’s dress shirts (also altered to fit). This look, however, died out of my wardrobe Mid-2009.Wellies (Wellington Boots)

One Word: PRACTICAL. Moss does wear these regularly for Outdoor festivals, paired with shorts or a mini dress. I bought these to go over my jeans and to be worn exactly for their purpose. Plus mine are pink, so they brighten my day! Thanks Kate :)
Moccasin Boots

Unfortunately, this trend did not work for me. I had seen her wear them in black and tan, and they added so much flavor to her outfit! I had to have a pair! I wanted to wear them over jeans or with a mini-dress, but alas, the moccasins and my long legs did not harmonize; I just couldn’t get them to work. It took me two years of yearning and finally purchasing them and another two years of longing for that one day, I could just put them with an outfit to have them magically work. An extra year of just holding on to them made me realize they had to go :( Oh well. Can’t win ‘em all.
In the end, Kate Moss will continue to inspire my style and many other fashion kids. She has that envious style that just comes natural, like the athletic kid who just plays sports for fun while the rest of us work our asses off. Keep it up Kate Moss, you are amazing!!!!
