As a major fan of Wes Anderson and his most specific style, his amazing films and their best accompanying soundtracks, I have to rant about the fashion of The Royal Tenenbaums. I hope all of you have seen this film. I would reccomend each of Anderson's films. But this one is my absoulte favorite. Each of the three children (played by Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, and Owen Wilson) are adults stuck in children forms. They dress exactly like they did as kids. Paltrow's character, Margot has a specific style of tennis dresses, a fur coat and loafers. Talk about the most basic/chic style ever! I want her wardrobe, that's all I'm saying.
But I want to bring to everyone's attention the importance of evolving your look as you age! I know, we get comfortable in a certain style and before you know it, 5 years have gone by and you still dress the same. Whether you like fashion or not, you ought to be aware of what is being worn by persons who are your age. I still have much anticipation toward what is age appropriate for me; what I can wear now as opposed to what I can't wear anymore........like skinny jeans and Chuck Taylors. I feel like the time has come to say goodbye to that combo and say hello to wide leg jeans with peep-toe flats. Think about it, evaluate, and go forward with some new clothes. You'd be surprised what a style revamp can do to your outlook on most everything.
