Jeans are the most ubiquitous clothing around. I find it to be the most difficult piece to aquire. Unless of course you have a system for the best jeans around. That would be Levis. Most people are unaware of my battered jeans and the process I put them through. In the last 6 years, I have owned 6 pairs of Levis; bought in the Misses section for no more than $30. Talk about versatility and durability! I still have the oldest pair, which are still holding strong. Poor things. They have stood the test of time, and when they show any natural wear and tear, a revamp of altering takes place, hence how skinny jeans are born into my closet. The process is as follows......
1. I buy them on sale, for no more than $30. Always the same type and size in different washes.
2. I wear them for work or as my fancy pair.... Usually lasts a year or two.
3. By now they have some tear on them (ie: holes, actual tears usually in the knees). They begin a new role: The ever-trendy torn jeans. Only I am more proud to wear them because they show genuine wear as opposed to store bought wear and tear. I simply alter them into skinny jeans and they become a new piece in my wardrobe!
4. Once I get sick of the skinny jeans, or it just gets too hot, I cut the legs off and make shorts. After that, only time will tell.
Levis serve a great purpose of longevity. So go out and pick up a pair!
Note to my Readers...
I have noticed the jeans bought from the Misses section, or where your Dad might shop seem to last much longer than the younger successors ;)
