Organization and Fashion

It was inevitable that I would one day write about the two subjects as they go hand in hand in my book. All my life I have been very organized, so when my wardrobe is the main thing I live with, you'd better believe everything in it is pristine and organized. For some fashionistas, it may be easy to get dressed in the morning with your closet in shambles and your purses and accessories thrown about; that however is not my style. I like to know where everything is in order to put together the right outfit. How can you be expected to remember half the details that go into making an outfit if you can't find anything?
Now there are two schools of thought: perhaps you can have everything all over the place, that way you never know where an outfit may take you. Or you can have everything super organized. I have tried both, and I do incorporate the two. It is what you would call organized chaos. I like to have my entire room and closet full of any and everything that could be worn for an ensemble. My room is almost like a shop that I like to visit everyday and pick out what I would like to buy! But that is where it stops. Picking out clothes is one thing; having the creative backing is another. Being able to see where said outfit is going takes plenty of practice. And for that I sometimes get into a creative spurt with my clothing. My play list of Alicia Keys and the Beatles will be in full swing as I strip down every 2 seconds to try on another outfit. It's my way of finding out what works and what doesn't; learning something new about each piece in my wardrobe and how it can be worn. Then I'll take some pictures of myself (thank you self timer) and have the pictures on hand for those days when I can't think of what to wear. But it all starts with my organized closet. That is what inspires me! Seeing every delicacy of a wardrobe can really light up my day. I never thought I would utter such words, as it sounds most pathetic out loud. Tis the truth though.
